Finally we made it!

Yeah, we made it back to Germany!
Was an absolutely awesome experience and we are happy that all went smooth.

Thanks for the warm welcome at Paderborn, was a pleasure to see you all there!

Special thanks to our Co-Pilot and friend Jerry who joined us on this Cross-Atlantic Trip!

Bye,bye!

Scotland...

We made it to Wick in North-Scotland, this morning. Was a nice Flight,
at least till the Pilots asked for a Screwdriver and started to demount one of the RPM-Indicators!
One of the two indicators wasn't working properly and eventually stopped working completely!
But no worries, this is nothing serious and we can proceed our Flight from here back Home to Paderborn, hopefully shortly.

Destinaton change

Dear Friends,
we are at the Airport in Iceland and are about to be airborn in 15 mins. We have a slight change in our Flight plan, instead of Aberdeen, we know plan to do a stop in Wick, which is north of Aberdeen. Stay tuned, we are heading out shortly.

Blue Lagoon

To be honest: We had an amazing experience at the Blue Lagoon!
We haven't had the camera inside the Spa area, here some pictures of the outside.
If you ever have the chance to visit that place, you NEED to get a under-water-massage, the by far most relaxing massage we all ever enjoyed!

Here a few impressions of the Guesthouse we are staying at...

Iceland

We are there! Iceland welcomed us with a fairly strong wind, but Tan and Jerry landed our "Rice Rocket" safely!
Now we are at a pretty cool guest house and are about to head out for a Beer or two.
Cheers!

Icebergs ahead!

Yeah, we made it to Greenland! Was a very calm and nice flight and
we made a visual approach following the Fjiord in low altitude. What a view!

Goose Bay pics

Goose Bay

very nice landing in Goose Bay! The passengers applaudet after touch down but for whatever reason this was not apreciated by the pilots.

It is Minus 16 degrees outside and the General aviation lady offered us icecream ;-) crazy people here.

Jerry has never seen so much snow before.

since the weather cleared up we are now going to Narsarssuaq.

Landed in Bangor

After our early departure in Farmingdale, we have arrived safely in Bangor. Since we try to make it all the way over to Iceland, this will just be a short refueling stop, heading out to Goose Bay in about 20 mins.

2nd Try

After the registration desaster during our first attempt to fly the Bird towards Europe,
we are finally back. Today we all arrived in Farmingdale, Long Island (New York) and our Pilot Jerry flew in the MU-2 from Smyrna.
Since we are starting here in NY and due to the change in the weather conditions above the northern atlantic, we have changed our planned route. We will head-out early in the morning (4am) to
Bangor (Maine), refuel there, then further to GooseBay (Canada) for the 2nd refueling stop and then via Nuuk (Greenland) to Keflavik in Iceland.
Stay tuned and keep your fingers crossed!

The Hartzell story

Yesterday we flew in to Piqua, Ohio to get new propellers on the Aircraft. Once we came back from Lunch, the mechanics told us that there is an problem with one of the parts on the new propellers, respectivelly 3 holes which were not there. So that's why we are stranded here in Ohio, till they have overhauled the part and put the props back one.
The guys at Hartzell (manufacturer) tried to make our stay as positive as possibe and today they showed us their facility. Here some impressions...
